Terms of service

Effective date: 1 December 2026

These terms govern your use of IDCC, the Information Dominance Certification Center run by Alpha-War G.K. ("we", "us"). IDCC includes the website, training, labs, vulnerability brief and certification exams (together, the "Service"). They are standard terms under Japan's Civil Code, and you accept them when you create an account. If the Japanese and English versions differ, the Japanese version governs.

1. Your account

  1. One account per person. You may not share or transfer it.
  2. Every account must use multi-factor authentication (MFA). Keep your sign-in details safe, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
  3. Keep your account details accurate and up to date.

2. Prices and payment

  1. Prices are as shown on the pricing page, including consumption tax. Payment is by credit card through Square.
  2. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually and renew automatically for the same period until you cancel. We charge your saved card at each renewal.
  3. You can cancel at any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. We do not give partial refunds for unused time, unless the law requires it.
  4. If a payment fails, you keep access for 7 days. If we still haven't received payment by then, paid features are paused.
  5. Plan changes: an upgrade takes effect at once, and we charge the difference for the rest of your current billing period. A downgrade or a switch between monthly and annual billing takes effect at your next renewal. Moving from an individual plan to a team plan starts team access at once; team billing begins when your individual plan's paid period ends, so you are never charged twice.
  6. We will email you at least 30 days before any price change. New prices apply from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.

3. Team plans

  1. Team plans start at 5 seats. The company that buys them (the "customer company") names administrators, who invite learners.
  2. Seats added part-way through a billing period are charged pro rata for the rest of the period.
  3. The customer company's administrators can see each learner's email address, join date, course progress, belts and certification results. The customer company must tell its employees this.

4. Certification exams

Exam vouchers and certifications are also governed by the certification policy.

5. Course content and intellectual property

  1. We, or the people who license material to us, own the courses, questions, labs, briefs and other content.
  2. You may use them only for your own learning, or for your company's internal training if you are on a team plan. You may not copy, redistribute, sell or republish them, or use them to train AI models.
  3. You may not disclose exam questions to anyone.

6. The vulnerability brief, alerts and AI consultation

The daily brief, alerts and Command Post are reference information, prepared from public sources with AI assistance. They may contain errors or be out of date. Always check the vendor's own advisory before acting.

The AI consultation gives answers generated by an AI model. They can be wrong. They are not professional, legal or incident-response advice, and you remain responsible for decisions you make. Use it for defense only. Don't send it passwords, keys, other people's personal information or anything you aren't allowed to share. Daily message limits depend on your plan. If you ask for a human consultant, our staff will advise on a best-effort basis.

7. Prohibited conduct and lab use

The lab rules apply to the labs and the Service. You also may not:

  • break the law or public order, or infringe anyone's rights;
  • access the Service without authorization, overload it or interfere with it (if you find a vulnerability, report it as described on our security page);
  • cheat on quizzes or exams;
  • use the AI consultation, alerts or course content to plan or carry out an attack on any system you are not authorized to test;
  • share an account or pretend to be someone else.

8. Suspension and termination

If you break these terms, we may suspend all or part of your account or end your contract without notice. If we end it for a serious breach, we do not refund amounts already paid.

9. Changes to the Service

We may pause the Service for maintenance, outages, disasters or other unavoidable reasons. We may also add, revise or change course material and features. Features marked "coming soon", such as AWS sandbox labs and online proctored exams, may launch on a different date than planned.

10. Disclaimers and limits on liability

  1. We do not promise that the Service will suit your particular purpose or prevent any security incident.
  2. If we cause you loss through breach of contract or a wrongful act, our liability is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the month the loss occurred. The cap does not apply to our intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
  3. If you are a consumer under Japan's Consumer Contract Act, the cap does not apply to the extent that Act makes it void.

11. Anti-social forces

You confirm that you are not, and have no ties to, an organized crime group or other anti-social force. If this is untrue, we may end your contract immediately.

12. Changes to these terms

Under Article 548-4 of the Civil Code, we may change these terms when the change benefits users generally, or when it is reasonable given why it is needed and what it changes. We will post the change and its effective date on this site, and email you, at least 30 days before it takes effect.

13. Governing law and courts

These terms are governed by Japanese law. The Yokohama District Court has exclusive jurisdiction at first instance over disputes about the Service. Consumers may still sue in the court for the place where they live.
